Antonio Longo

Antonio is a Partner in the Tax Department. He leads the Family Business & Wealth Management focus team at the firm’s international level and serves as Co-Head of the Private Client sector in Italy.  

He has extensive experience in tax law, with a particular focus on international, corporate, private client and employment taxation, as well as tax controversy matters. He advises clients on tax audits, tax risk management and cooperative compliance programmes. 

Antonio provides tax advice to Italian and multinational companies and groups operating across a wide range of sectors, including insurance, energy, pharmaceuticals, industrials, technology, food and retail. He also assists clients with the design of management incentive plans and with issues related to the international mobility of workers.

He is a trusted adviser to entrepreneurial families, family offices, top executives, high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs), wealth management operators and non-profit organisations. He advises on the management, protection and structuring of personal and business assets, including complex generational transfers of wealth, succession and estate planning, and international relocations. 

His expertise also includes tax rulings and voluntary disclosure procedures, as well as pre-litigation and litigation in tax disputes, including matters involving criminal tax law.

In the academic and scientific field, Antonio regularly collaborates with Il Sole 24 Ore as a subject matter expert and is the author of numerous publications in national and international legal journals on tax law and wealth management. He is a frequent speaker at conferences and seminars in Italy and abroad and lectures in postgraduate specialisation programmes.

He is a member of the Branch Development Committee of STEP Worldwide and the Advisory Board of STEP Italy. He is also responsible for the international tax committee within the Foreign Affairs Commission of the Milan Bar Association and serves as a member of the national tax committee of Federmanager.

Alongside his professional activity, Antonio is actively involved in the legal profession. He serves as a Delegate of the Milan Bar elected to the XXXVI National Legal Congress and as a member of the executive committee of ASLA (Association of Italian Law Firms).
