DLA Piper advises APEM Group on CSA Ocean Sciences acquisition

DLA Piper is advising global environmental consultancy APEM Group on the acquisition of CSA Ocean Sciences, a US-based marine environmental consultancy focused on energy transition and coastal infrastructure projects.

The acquisition establishes APEM Group’s US footprint and further expands its marine capabilities, providing access to relationships across a broad range of markets, while also extending its geographic reach into Africa, Brazil, Mexico, and Western Australia.

“We are proud to assist APEM Group in its first US acquisition, as it further solidifies its role as a global leader in environmental consulting services,” said Marc Samuel, the DLA Piper Partner who led the deal team. “As regulatory frameworks evolve and investment in energy and infrastructure accelerates, environmental consultants play an important role in helping organizations manage risk and move increasingly complex projects forward with confidence.”

The transaction is subject to regulatory approval and is expected to close by the end of Q1 2026.

DLA Piper has a long-standing relationship with APEM Group, having previously advised the company on matters in Australia, including the acquisition of AARC Environmental Solutions Pty Ltd in 2024 and Attexo Group Pty Ltd in 2025.

In addition to Samuel (New York/Washington, DC), the DLA Piper deal team included Associates Kristen Roberson (Washington, DC), Nia Oates Wishom (Atlanta), and Tamara Lentini (Washington, DC).
