As Managing Director of DLA Piper's Data Interrogation Team within the AI & Data Analytics practice, Talia leads a team of attorney data analysts at the forefront of AI-enabled legal services. She oversees large-scale review and analysis of complex enterprise data to support risk assessments, litigation, investigations, and proactive compliance. Under her leadership, the team leverages machine learning, generative AI, and advanced analytics in innovative ways to deliver superior outcomes for the firm's clients.

Talia has supported clients across diverse industries in matters ranging from regulatory compliance and government investigations to post-M&A disputes and high-profile incident response. She is recognized for advancing AI-augmented legal services and partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to embed innovation into sophisticated legal workflows.

EXPERIENCE

  • Led a proactive compliance engagement for a global pharmaceutical company to identify early risk indicators related to the Anti-kickback Statute across high-volume enterprise messaging data, enabling implementation of targeted mitigation controls.
  • Conducted cross-border proactive compliance engagement related to third-party due diligence and FCPA risk in multiple international jurisdictions.
  • Attorney team lead for the development and execution of the firm's AI-augmented Proactive Compliance as a Service, which was awarded Innovation in New Services to Manage Risk in the 2024 Financial Times Innovative Lawyers North America report.

  • Managed a deep dive investigation in support of breach of contract and unjust enrichment claims of a foreign biopharmaceutical company, as subcontractor, against a U.S. based product development program manager as prime contractor.
  • Managed an eDiscovery team that produced thousands of documents in response to a multidistrict class action lawsuit brought against a long-standing global retail client.
  • Led a highly complex ESI investigation in response to a government probe of a client in the oil refining industry. 
  • Managed an eDiscovery team that produced thousands of documents for a leading defense contractor client in response to an action brought by the Government.

Pro Bono

  • Earned Pro Bono Outstanding Service Award from the Legal Aid Society of San Diego. 
  • Worked on a class action lawsuit brought against a police department for unlawful arrest practices. 
  • Assisted the ACLU in investigating the termination of a government employee.

Prior Experience

Prior to joining DLA, Talia spent four years at another large law firm as Fact Development Team leader and, prior to that, eight years consulting as an experienced eDiscovery attorney. During law school, Talia served as a law clerk for the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of California. Talia also interned with the San Diego Office of the City Attorney’s Criminal Division in the Neighborhood Prosecution Unit. In her prior professional life, Talia was a community-based mental health and substance abuse social worker.
