Giulia Zappaterra is a Legal Director specializing in privacy and cybersecurity. For over 15 years, she has been advising domestic and international clients on personal data protection, data governance, and cybersecurity, as well as on matters related to information technology and new technologies, e‑commerce, and electronic payments. She also assists clients in the design of integrated compliance models covering privacy, cybersecurity, and digital risk management, in light of the growing regulatory landscape in these areas. In addition, she serves as a Data Protection Officer for an increasing number of organizations that rely on her experience in privacy compliance, data governance, and cyber‑resilience programs.

Giulia is qualified to practice in Italy and Spain and, thanks to her studies in the United States, she is able to support clients while considering the main international regulatory frameworks on data protection, cybersecurity, and digital technologies. She places particular emphasis on delivering pragmatic, business‑oriented solutions that enable organizations to operate in compliance with applicable laws while ensuring adequate levels of data protection and information security.

Giulia is also certified by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) and is the co‑founder and a member of the Steering Committee of the Privacy She Leaders association, an initiative aimed at promoting female leadership in the privacy and data protection sector.

She regularly contributes to blogs and publications on legal issues related to the media, technology, and commercial sectors, with a particular focus on privacy, cybersecurity, and digital technology regulation.
